Life In Renewal
Life In Renewal is a Christian Life Coaching ministry. We met at a coffee shop we both liked to get work done at. As we chatted, I found out he was starting a new ministry and could use some help with web design and branding. Take a look and see how we brought Life in Renewal to life!
Branding
Name Choice
Because they were in the very beginning stages of ministry, they didn't even have a name yet, only a vision. Out of all of the choices, we ended up going with life in renewal because of its alignment to their mission statement, core verse and strength. It's a name that is easily identifiable and will stand the test of time.
Color Palette
I chose green as their base color because they asked for earthy tones. In order to prevent them from looking like a coffee shop, I chose the green/olive route. We settled on a very grass like deep green. I then got light versions for highlights and dark versions for text bases and more. We wanted it to communicate a welcoming, judgement free environment where healing and abundance could take place. Pure white and pure black are also used.

Logo Design (1st draft)
Once we had the name down, it was time to work on their logo and brand identity. I gave them 2 drafts as an initial course of direction they'd like to take. One more corporate, professional, and impactful. The other direction was more playful and welcoming.

Draft 1:
Backward arrow shows going back to deal with issues, then moving forward to a renewed life.

Draft 2:
Bold customized R with the negative space being a plant shooting up, life "in" renewal.
Logo Design (Final Draft)
They ended up going with option 2 which I liked better as well. The plan symbolizing life being "in" the R of renewal just made too much sense. There were some issues though, the R looked elementary and it was proving to be difficult to balance it just right. After some changes to the font and a new plant asset, we had our final logo. Bottom right and top left of the R come to a point to look like leaves.

Extra Assets
I created and sourced some extra icons to further establish the brands aesthetic. The leaves were designed to be used for website and marketing collateral in general while the supporting artwork was to be used specifically for the website. Icons and other assets are a great way to keep your branding from looking too dull and flat.

Home Page
The plan for Life in Renewal's home page was to take them on a journey through their services and bolster their credibility by the time the viewer got to the contact form. The website home page was treated almost as a landing page because of a limited budget, but there was other pages linked as well for those who were interested.

Their Story
Bill and LuAnn share their story of redemption, showing the viewer that the people they would be entrusting know what it's like to be bound. The relatability this will foster can help the potential client make a decision.
